Graph #1 of 8 From Company Dashboard - Net Sales vs Budget

Each day for the next 8 days or so, I am going to write a blog post about a particular graph I created for this dashboard.

My goal with the dashboard is to show 8 graphs that represent a diversified picture of the company. E.g. not just all sales related or not all just finance related ratios.

The goal is to allow non-accountants or non-financial experts to understand the graphs and also to understand how the numbers represent on how the company is doing.

This first graph is in our "Sales & Profit Metrics" section of the one page dashboard. Be sure to check back each day to see how the dashboard is coming together.

For this graph, "Net Sales Vs Budget" we are comparing how the sales for the company are comparing to the budget. This particular graph shows 12 months of data on a monthly basis and also a YTD budget.

This data is not too exiting on a YTD basis, but that is also the point of putting YTD numbers on the graph. We want to show any possible fluctuations on a monthly basis to see if there really is an impact on the company.
